Coffee Walks are morning walking tours that explore a neighborhood with a
knowledgeable guide. Coffee Walks start out at 9:30 with light morning
refreshments in an interesting location, and end no later than 12 noon. Coffee
Walks are VERY popular, and fill up quickly!
This Corn Hill Coffee Walk on April 17th and June 28th is best suited for kids eight years old and up. You should
dress appropriately for the weather and be comfortable standing and walking for
over an hour. Each Coffee Walk is $16 for Landmark Society Members, and $18 for
non-members. We're also offering a special rate for children attending this
special Coffee Walk - $6 for children of families with family memberships and $7
for non-members.
Join us for a family-friendly jaunt through
Rochester’s oldest residential neighborhood. Kids can bring along any or all
family members for a morning of fun, games, tours and refreshments. Our fun
begins with coffee, juice and pastries at The Landmark Society’s headquarters
in the historic Hoyt-Potter House. After a short orientation, we’ll head out
into the sunshine. We’ll play some observation games, figure out why you’d
have to “lie on your tummy” to look out a window, hear how a mayor got
elected even though he “knew nothing” and find out the connection between
Corn Hill and a famous movie star. The historic architecture you see will be a
feast for your eyes and the stories you hear will delight all ages.
All children must be accompanied by the adult that brings them to the tour,
although adults without children are welcome.
Advance registration is required. Once you have registered you will receive
confirmation by mail that includes information about the meeting place for your
walk.
At least 7 days advance notice of withdrawal from a program is required to
receive a refund (minus $5 processing fee).
